I don’t know what I would name it, but I admired some names of restaurants I have been to, for instance THE HUNGRY YEARS and outside on the windows were life size photos of people in the Depression Years queueing for food handouts. Also FOOD FOR FRIENDS where all the staff had photographic portraits of their head and shoulders on the wall, larger than life size, in their nice uniforms. Another restaurant I went to in a valley, was called PIZZAS IN THE MIST (probably after the cartoon CHICKENS IN THE MIST and the book GORILLAS IN THE MIST).

I would call it “Slappy’s Scrap Shack”. I would sell crappy food and overcharge for it.

I would name it “Healthy Choice Cuisine” and serve only healthy meals.

    Papa’s ……Authentic Filipino Cuisine

My dad, who I call Papa, always cooked for a family of 8 and other family members always request him to cook for them for parties.

I’d open my own “Soup Kitchen” serving simple and fancy soups, several sorts, all made with fresh seasonal ingredients (Butternut squash or Parsnip for October I think). There’d be lots of veggie options, but also meat. Chicken soup with matzo balls would be a regular feature. As well as soup I’d sell freshly baked bread, rolls and loaves, preferably cooked on the premises. It would be made using flour ground and milled by my local windmill (really!). I’d serve homemade cakes for puddings and afternoon tea/ morning coffee. I’d not serve breakfast ever (far too early), and all our tea, coffee and wine would be fair-trade. I’d try to be all organic, and definitely all free range meat. God, it all sounds a bit worthy doesn’t it? Maybe I’d just try one thing at a time first- soup and bread! mmmmmmm
